An actor, singer, television presenter, Diljit Dosanjh was born in 1984 in the village of Dosanjh Kalan in Punjab. Born to Balbir Singh and Sukhwinder Kaur, Diljit spent the early days of his childhood in his village moved to Ludhiana from where he cpmpleted his formal education.

Diljit Dosanjh released his first album Ishq Da Uda Ada in 2004. His second album Dil also released in the same the year. After the release of his third album Smile, which featured the the tracks Nachh Diyan Alran Kuwariyan and Paggan Pochviyan Wale, Diljit's popularity soared.
Ishq Ho Gaya, Chocolate and The Next Level where some of Diljit Dosanjh's albums which released in the consecutive years. Diljit released four singles in 2009 including Bhagat Singh, No Tension, Power Of Duets and Dance With Me. The Next Level won Best Folk Pop Album award in PTC Punjabi Music Awards 2010.
Diljit Dosanjh forayed into mainstream Punjabi cinema with Lion Of Punjab. Though his ddebut film tanked at the box office, Lak 28 Kudi Da a song from his film became very popular. he track, featuring Yo Yo Honey Singh, reached number 1 on The Official Asian Download Chart in USA published by the BBC.
His second film Jihne Mera Dil Luteya , featuring Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa, released in 2011. The film did fare performance at the box office. Diljit released three singles in 2011 Catty Eyes, Dharti and Chustiyan.
In Bollywood, Diljit Dosanjh sang for Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza's film Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya in 2012. In the consecutive years, Diljit Dosanjh also sang songs for films like Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Singh is Bling.
Diljit Dosanjh made his Bollywood screen debut with Udta Punjab opposite Kareena Kapoor. He won a Filmfare for Best Debut Actor Male for the film. Diljit then featured Phillauri, which released in 2017.
In 2018, Diljit Dosanjh featured in two films Welcome To New York and Soorma. While the former tanked at the box office, Diljit received critical appreciation for his role in Soorma.
In 2019, Diljit Dosanjh will be seen in Good News, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani and Arjun Patiala
