Cate, who held a nomination for Leading Actress for her role in Carol, was stunning in a black, embroidered Alexander McQueen gown.

Joining her in black was another Kate, who looked beautiful in an Antonio Berardi ensemble. She added a pop of colour to her look with a red clutch. Kate won Best Supporting Actress for Steve Jobs.

Saoirse, who was nominated for Leading Actress for Brooklyn, framed a dazzling picture in a black off-shoulder Burberry dress.
