Sonu Sood was born on July 30, 1973 to Shakti Sagar Sood and Saroj Sood in Moga, Punjab. The actor lost his father Shakti Sood in February 2016 and his mother Saroj Sood in 2007.
Before stepping into Bollywood, Sonu Sood starred in Tamil films like Kallazhagar and Nenjinile. He then appeared as an antagonist in the Telugu film Hands Up!. In 2001, he appeared in Majunu.
Sonu Sood made his Bollywood debut with the 2002 film Shaheed-E-Azam, in which he starred as Bhagat Singh. However, her breakout performance was in Mani Ratnam's Yuva, in which he featured ad Abhishek Bachchan's brother.
