It's a good day for Dhanush fans!
Rajinikanth's daughter, filmmaker Soundarya announced the sequel to Dhanush's 2014 blockbuster film Velaiyilla Pattathari, popularly known as VIP, with a teaser on Wednesday morning. VIP will be made in both Tamil and Telugu.
Dhanush, whose character Raghuvaran, mapped the transition from an unemployed graduate to a successful civil engineer, will reprise his role in VIP 2. In the teaser, only a silhouetted Dhanush features against a sketchy construction site. VIP 2 will go on floors this December.
Dhaunsh is thrilled:
Kabali producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, whose V Creations will back the film, also piqued our interests with posters starring only cut-outs of Dhanush... umm Raghuvaran:
Velaiyilla Pattathari was entry #25 to Dhanush's list of films. On January 2015, VIP was also released in Telugu as Raghuvaran B.Tech.
Velaiyilla Pattathari also starred Amala Paul and was directed by debutante Velraj. This time, Soundarya takes the reins while Dhanush also contributes as the story and dialogue writer.
Soundarya made her debuted as director with Tamil film Kochadaiiyaan, starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
Dhanush is married to Rajinikanth's elder daughter Aishwaryaa, who directed Dhanush in 3. Dhanush's upcoming films include Nilaavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, Enai Noki Paayum Thota and Vada Chennai. Dhanush, 33, also has a guest appearance in Power Paandi.
