New Delhi: The audio of upcoming Telugu historical mega budget film Gautamiputra Satakarni was released by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Tirupati on Monday. Gautamiputra Satakarni featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role is based on the life of a Satavahana dynasty emperor. Directed by National Award winning filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi, the film is slated to release on January 14 and also stars Shriya Saran, Hema Malini and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles. Gautamiputra Satakarni is Nandamuri Balakrishna 100th film. The launch was attended by the film's cast, Krish Jagarlamudi, producers J Saibabu and Y Rajeev Reddy, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Kannada film star Shivraj Kumar and others.

The makers of the film had grand plans about the launch. "It's going to be a very lavish event. For the first time in Telugu cinema, digital invitations were designed and sent to guests. It's something that hasn't been done so far and even though it's a costly affair, the makers didn't mind," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

The trailer of the film was unveiled last week and received a positive response from the audience. It gives the audience a quick glimpse of the unsung ruler from the Satavahana dynasty and Nandamuri Balakrishna's character.

The raw footage itself looks amazing and with the visual effects it will be epic," a source from the film's unit told IANS earlier.

Nandamuri Balakrishna, son of legendary actor turned politician and N T Ramarao is also a ruling MLA. He started his career as a child artist in 1974's Tatamma Kala. His last film Dictator was released in January 2016.
