In Tweet, Padma Awardee Rajinikanth Says he's 'Deeply Honoured'

New Delhi: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is to receive the Padma Vibhushan this year and has said he's 'deeply honoured' in a tweet. Rajini Sir, 65, features on the list of 112 names announced by the government on Monday as recipients of the Padma honours.

In his tweet, the actor also thanked his fans:

Rajinikanth received the Padma Bhushan in 2000. He is currently making two movies - Kabali, opposite Radhika Apte, and the sequel to his 2010 blockbuster Enthiran.

The Padma list also includes actors Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgn and Priyanka Chopra, filmmakers Nila Madhab Panda, S S Rajamouli and Madhur Bhandarkar, and singer Udit Narayan.
