According to an industry source, Rajamouli is planning a spin-off on Baahubali. Meanwhile, Rajamouli will resume filming Baahubali 2 from mid-November or early December. The film features Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles
Rudhramadevi is scheduled to release on October 9 in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other states. The film has reportedly been made on a budget of Rs80 crore and was first shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil and later dubbed into Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam
"The Tamil version will release on October 16. The film's Tamil producers Thenandal Films released Vijay-starrer Puli last week and hence have pushed the release of Rudhramadevi by a week as they feel both the films will eat into their box office returns," a source from the film's unit told IANS
"We had to rely a lot on VFX (visual effects). Gunasekhar and art director Thota Tharani spent months in Warangal, studying the remains of the Kakatiya dynasty. This is Gunasekhar's story. So I chose to see it from his point of view. I trusted his vision and blindly followed his lead," said Anushka
"Contrary to the misconception that women are soft and weak, Anushka has proved everybody wrong with her performance in the film. She fought like a warrior and was so good in the action sequences that one can't believe if there's a woman involved," said Vikramjeet
"The film will be shot in India, Africa, Australia and Paris. As soon as Suriya completes shooting for Tamil thriller 24, he's expected to take a short break and join the sets of Singam 3," a source from the film's unit said. Directed by Hari Gopalakrishnan, Singam 3 also features Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan
Anushka Shetty is endearing as a happy-go-lucky young woman grappling with weight issues in the 34-second first teaser. The comedy of errors captures her character's dilemma - to eat or not to eat?
Rudhramadevi is based on a third century queen of the Kakatiya dynasty with Anushka Shetty playing the protagonist. The Gunasekhar-directed film, produced by Abhishek Nama, will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam
Baahubali, believed to be India's most expensive film with a stated budget of Rs 250 crores, is a two-part epic fantasy starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishnan. The first part released across 4,000 screens worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam on July 10 and reportedly collected more than Rs 500 crores in just 24 days
Unlike Bollywood movies, it is not so easy for Tamil movies to collect Rs 100 crores. So far, only 10 Tamil movies have managed to reach the milestone worldwide at the box office.
The film has broken the record set by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's 2014 blockbuster Happy New Year which had made Rs 45 crores on its opening day.
"The Shankar-directed I turned out to be very successful. This didn't go down well with the Film Exhibitor's Federation. Hence, they are against the wide release of Baahubali," a source said
