Sushant believes that his curiosity to explore the various aspects of cinema and its makers around the world arose when he started working with Dibakar for their 2015 crime mystery Detective Byomkesh Bakshy

The Bengali film, with music by Piku composer Anupam Roy, is about three characters - an assassin, a prostitute and a drug dealer. It hits theatres today, and stars Anjan Dutt, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy's Swastika Mukherjee, and Ritwik Chakraborty
"In Bollywood, directors have greater faith in actors. You can see an Alia Bhatt portraying a pock-marked rural woman in Udta Punjab which is a departure from her micro-flaunting image. In Bengali cinema, the directors are not willing to experiment with me," said Swastika Mukherjee
