"Depression can strike anyone regardless of their age, background or economic status. Unfortunately, those who suffer from depression and other mental health issues face prejudice and discrimination," said Deepika
Lady Gaga visited a youth center and told the members there: "I suffer from PTSD. I've never told anyone that before. So here we are. I've been searching for ways to help myself."

Deepika Padukone visited NDTV studios on October 10, also World Mental Health Day where she talked about mental health and the rise in number of people who are coming out with their stories and seeking help
"Two years ago I struggled with depression. I was sinking. I almost gave up. But it was the athlete in me that gave me the strength to fight and never ever give up," she wrote
"I felt I could not just sit by and watch as people who were going through what I had gone through. So, we decided to launch 'You Are Not Alone' with an idea to raise awareness and to enable students and teachers to identify signs of anxiety and depression," Deepika said
Deepika Padukone has not (yet) starred in a 100 crore film in 2015 but she's had a blockbuster year nevertheless. In January, the 29-year-old actress went public with her battle against depression, a subject that would normally be considered taboo in the world of showbiz. Deepika shone on-screen as well with Piku and Tamasha
"We need to stigmatize mental illness and spread awareness about it. I know in the current scenario we lead stressful lives but you have to keep reminding yourself that it is important to live, love and laugh. After all that is what life is all about," Deepika said during the launch of her foundation Live Love Laugh
