Dulquer Salmaan is all set to play late Tamil star Gemini Ganesan in upcoming bilingual film Mahanati, a biopic on legendary actress Savitri

The film was 1971's Tamil devotional Aathi Parashakti, in which Jayalalithaa played the lead role of Goddess Sakthi, opposite Gemini Ganesan as Lord Shiva. Sridevi, then a child artiste, appeared as Lord Murugan. Now 53, Sridevi recalled Jayalalithaa as "articulate, dignified, cultured and caring."

Veteran playback singer PB Srinivas, known for crooning thousands of chartbusters in southern languages, died on Sunday, a family member said.

A book and DVD containing the biography of Tamil film actor, late Gemini Ganesan, would be released here on November 21.
