Shahid Kapoor was concerned that, as a period film, Rangoon would be slow but, happily, has discovered that's not the case. "It's how Haider was. It had lots of intensity and movement and so does Rangoon," Shahid said. However, there are differences particularly in the shooting style
Shahid explained: "Honestly, when we signed the film and were shooting for it, Vikas' Queen hadn't released, my Haider hadn't released and Alia's Highway was about to release. So the time when we took up this film, we weren't exciting people. And the year passed and the films of all three of us were liked by viewers. So Shaandaar became a very big film"
"That (protest) is past for me. I have forgotten about it already. It was a lovely experience (to shoot in Kashmir)," said Vishal Bhardwaj
The J&K CM lashed out against a news site which reported that he had complained about Kashmirs portrayal in the film to the Bollywood filmmaker
