The CBI filed the chargesheet on December 9, citing that Sooraj had made false promises to Jiah, who allegedly committed suicide in 2013. "Highs and lows are a part of life. God is great. The case is still in court. Ten people have ten different things to say about it. I will talk about it once the case is cleared," said Sooraj Pancholi
Special public prosecutor Dinesh Tiwari expressed surprise at CBI's move. He was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, "I was never informed about the charge sheet and the conclusion that the agency had arrived at." He also said that he would oppose the charge sheet if CBI concluded the cause of death as 'suicide'
