Kangana Ranaut Y Security

The Y-plus security cover to actress Kangana Ranaut has been provided based on a request from her father to the state government in her native Himachal Pradesh, which in turn forwarded it to the Centre, Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said on Friday.

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Monday questioned the Centre's "use of resources" after it granted a "Y plus" security cover to actor Kangana Ranaut, who has been attacking the Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra over Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

Kangana Ranaut is the first Bollywood actor to receive CRPF (central reserve police force) security cover; she is to get Y+ cover, which is two levels below that provided to Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Bristling at actor Kangana Ranaut's new Y-plus security, a leader of the Shiv Sena commented today that the central government would give protection even to Dawood Ibrahim just to spite the Maharashtra government.

Kangana Ranaut will be provided Y-Plus category security, government sources said today in the middle of a huge row over the actor's comments comparing Mumbai to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). She is the first actor to be given the protection of the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), which guards some 60 people in the country.
