Akshay Kumar has lashed out at critics of his National Award for Best Actor. 'Take it back if you want,' he told the press in Mumbai on Monday
Manoj Kumar is known for films like Hariyali Aur Raasta, Woh Kaun Thi? , Himalaya Ki God Mein, Do Badan, Upkar, Patthar Ke Sanam, Neel Kamal and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan. He was also famous for starring in a league of patriotic films like Shaheed, Purab Aur Paschim and Kranti.
On Manoj Kumar receiving Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Mr Dhawan said: "He is a wonderful person, a wonderful director, actor, filmmaker; just watch his films, even today you get to learn a lot from him, from the kind of emotions, songs and other factors"
"It's a pleasant surprise. I was sleeping, and I started getting calls from my friends. I thought they were kidding, but when I read the news myself, I realised that it's for real. I have been absent from the limelight, and that's my mistake. I wanted to make a movie and will soon make one as I want to be more active," he said
Manoj Kumar will receive the 47th Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the Ministry of Information and Broadcast posted on Twitter. He was also famous for starring in a league of patriotic films like Shaheed, Purab Aur Paschim and Kranti. Manoj Kumar had received the Padma Shri honour in 1992
