"India is one of those few countries in the world where violence against women starts in the womb, before the girl is even born. We have to overcome the hypocrisy in our culture. On one hand, we celebrate Navratri, nine days of fasting for the goddess, then Durga Pooja... All kinds of goddesses in India are worshipped and praised than in any other culture," Richa said
Masaan follows the stories of four people from a small town -- Varanasi -- and how they fit into moralities, and how pre-set notions of society change their life. The film also touches upon issues like caste stereotypes and premarital sex
"However, times are changing and I am a testimony to that. There's a growing acceptance of 'outsiders.' However, the fact that there is a term called 'outsiders' is something we should introspect about," said Richa Chadha

"As you can tell from the teaser, it's a dramatic thriller. It's one girl's story of survival against all odds. On top of that, there's a love story and lots of song and dance sequences. I did the part to explore myself as an actor, for the love of dance This is my first commercial, somewhat glamorous role. I hope people like this brand new side to me"
"The feeling didn't sink in for some time. I called my dad and told him and he started jumping. I thought wow. That is how I should be reacting. I went home, told my mom and she was so happy. For the first time, I saw her dancing. That night, I called Mozez again and met him," said Vicky Kaushal
