At least 20 people were killed and 13 hostages were rescued from an upscale restaurant in the heart of Dhaka after over a 10-hour long siege by heavily-armed terrorists. Six gunmen were also killed and one was captured alive in a dawn raid today, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said
"They (IT officials) raided my office and home last week to probe whether I have evaded tax or not. My family and staff offered full cooperation to the officials. I have been religiously paying income tax, wealth tax and professional tax for all my assets and income till this very financial year," he added
"All of them including Vijay have been paying tax but not the full amount. The total tax evaded amount comes to about Rs 25 crore. In our raid, cash amounting to Rs 2 crore and gold worth Rs 2 crore was recovered," a source from the income tax department revealed
Puli's overseas distributor Atmus Entertainment Puli said that the local distributors did not allow overseas release without local clearance. "Money from Telugu distributor pending to close financier." They also said, "Vijay finally was able to come out of home after raid and immediately agreed to pay the pending amount"
