"I don't make movies for awards. It should be seen by everyone. It should be a success in that way. You are not making a film for yourself obviously. If we do get awards, then nothing like it," said Omung Kumar

"I had always admired your talent, but after watching you in Sarbjit last night I could not resist writing to you and expressing my immense admiration for your work in the film. Sarbjit chronicles the life of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh (played by Randeep Hooda) who was killed in a Pakistani jail. It also tells the story of his sister Dalbir kaur (played by Aishwarya Rai), who leaves no stone unturned to get justice for her brother

"It was a matter of great joy that I found my brother in Randeep. In the film, he is not just a hero, but also my brother. When I had come on the first day, he was given a shot in a small room. I actually felt that my sher is sitting in that room," said Dalbir Kaur

I am not sure if that happens here as well. If you treat somebody for such things just because of their nationality and not their crime, then, if it happens in India or Pakistan, it is always wrong," said Randeep

"When Omung Kumar(director of the film) came to me with the subject, it was an immediate yes. How can we walk away from telling such a story?" Ash said at the launch of Sarbjit's trailer

"I don't think Sarbjit will get banned in Pakistan because it gives a good message. We are not trying to say who's right who's wrong. We are trying to show the reality that Sarbjit was misunderstood, the way he was treated that we have showed in the film," said Darshan Kumar
