The Aam Aadmi Party in Goa has taken a guarded stand over the legal issues being faced by pop singer Remo Fernandes, who had penned a jingle for the party during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls campaign and was believed to be a supporter of the party.

"We have filed a criminal complaint against Remo and Jonah under Section 17 of Citizenship Act, 1955. Remo had joined a political party and was the brand ambassador for the Election Commission of India, despite being a Portuguese national, whereas Jonah was using an Indian driving licence despite being a French citizen," said Kashinath Shetye

Goa police, which is investigating an allegation against famous pop singer Remo Fernandes that he allegedly threatened a minor girl, have sought CCTV footage of the ward at Goa Medical College Hospital where the incident took place.

The Goa Police issued a lookout notice against noted pop singer Remo Fernandes after he failed to appear before investigating officers today in connection with a case filed against him for allegedly threatening a minor girl.

Remo Fernandes has been accused of threatening a girl at the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital on December 3. Police have already recorded the statement of the girl and her elder sister, both natives of the neighbouring Malvan town in Maharashtra

According to the first information report filed by lawyer Aires Rodrigues, on behalf of the victim, Remo verbally abused her on December 3 in ward number 105 of the Goa Medical College in Bambolim, near Panaji, where she was hospitalised for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident
