Sarbjit chronicles the life of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh (played by Randeep Hooda) who was killed in a Pakistani jail. It also tells the story of his sister Dalbir kaur (played by Aishwarya Rai), who leaves no stone unturned to get justice for her brother

"It was a matter of great joy that I found my brother in Randeep. In the film, he is not just a hero, but also my brother. When I had come on the first day, he was given a shot in a small room. I actually felt that my sher is sitting in that room," said Dalbir Kaur

"When Omung Kumar(director of the film) came to me with the subject, it was an immediate yes. How can we walk away from telling such a story?" Ash said at the launch of Sarbjit's trailer

The actor shaved his moustache in a video, bidding 'goodbye' to his character in the chaste Punjabi dialect that he has adopted for his role in the film. Sarbjit also co-stars Aishwarya as Randeep's sister. Richa Chadha plays his wife. The film releases on May 20

On Monday, BJP president Amit Shah will launch the first poster of the film in presence of Omung Kumar and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film stars Randeep Hooda in the titular role. The actor knocked off 18 kgs for the part. Aishwarya plays Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit's sister in the film

"Aishwarya pulled off a two-minute performance oriented scene so gracefully in one take, with no cuts and retakes, it was more like a real moment than a scene being filmed," said Sandeep Singh, producer of Sarabjit. In the Omung Kumar-directed film, Aishwarya plays the role of Sarabjit Singh's sister Dalbir Kaur

After her power-packed role in Jazbaa, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has started shooting for Sarabjit. "Work on Sarabjit has begun and we have just started filming. It is an intense film and as an actor, I obviously enjoy that," said Aishwarya. The film, directed by Omung Kumar, is a biopic on Sarabjit Singh

"We have started filming and would like to first say that, the picture is already out and I am very thankful for the response. It has been very encouraging, even for the choice of subject. Work has begun and it is (the film) intense," said Aishwarya. A picture from the sets showed Aishwarya dressed as an aged woman, wearing spectacles

"I have little or no interest in who are cast in the film. That is director's job. Once they (co-actors) are on the job, then it is my job. Before that I am not worried or nervous about doing this. It wouldn't matter to me," he said, when asked if he is excited or nervous working with Aishwarya.
