Vikas Bahl has allegedly been accused of sexually harassing a female employee of Phantom Films but Mr Bahl disputes the allegations
"She has evolved from a reasonably good talented beginner to an extraordinary actor in Udta Punjab. She has nailed it in that film. I wonder where this emotional intelligence is coming from," said Mahesh Bhatt
"I think various things like insecurities of feeling the pressure to perform with each film, the pressure for the film to perform well at the box office, which makes you little wary of the position that you are in, the questions that are always thrown at you that you might not have the answer to, but you are expected to have," said Alia Bhatt
"It was hectic. Also, it was a physically demanding film. I had to push myself despite the injuries I had. I trained for hockey before starting the film. One would need to have a lot of years of practice to pull that off convincingly," said Alia
Shahid was last seen in Vikas Bahl's Shaandaar, co-starring Alia Bhatt. Rangoon, meanwhile, also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut. The film is set against the backdrop of the World War II. Shahid will also feature in Udta Punjab, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt
"Two years down the line, Alia has an amazing repertoire of films. I however apologise for Shaandaar. Besides that, she has had some amazing films like 2 States, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and Kapoor And Sons. Alia is Dharma Production's proud girl and always the flagship girl of the company"
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Dilwale, Bombay Velvet, Shaandaar and Singh is Bliing are contending for the Worst Film award. Salman has also been nominated for Baawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke Award. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Tevar have bagged the maximum nominations this year
Shahid's previous film Shaandaar failed at the box office. "It hurts when a film doesn't work. You put in so much of hard work and if it doesn't work out, then you experience pain and anger. One goes through the same emotion during a breakup," said Shahid Kapoor
"I experimented with too many things in Shaandaar. I think you just have to work harder to make your next film. And hopefully you won't get written off as a director. The idea is to get back to the writing board and work hard for your next film," said Vikas Bahl
When asked to comment on the cold response that Shaandaar has generated, Alia said: "Of course, there is disappointment. It's a first for me. I'll take this in my stride and move on." But, Alia has a lot to look forward to. She has some big films like Udta Punjab, Kapoor And Sons and Shuddhi in her kitty
The film has made Rs 11 crores, making it Shahid Kapoor's biggest opening day film. With a destination wedding as the backdrop, the plot revolves around the the brewing romance between a wedding organiser Jagjinder Joginder (Shahid Kapoor) and the bride's sister Alia (Alia Bhatt).
Moviegoers are all set to have a Shaandaar weekend as Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor latest film hits the screen on October 22. The film, with its story backed a destination wedding theme promises great fun and quirky songs. Other than that Telugu film Kanche also hits the screens today
