"It's just so wonderful for the people (who) have put in the hard work. Abhishek Chaubey had believed in the brave film he wants to make. So, I think it's really his moment of triumph that finally his baby is actually coming out on the big screen," said Kareena
"I guess when you watch huge stars on stage -- be it film stars, music stars or rockstars, of course, there is a part of you that wants to be on that stage, doing that one day, and you want people to react to you that way," said Shahid Kapoor
Excerpt "The reason I did Udta Punjab is because there is no small or big role. And even if my role is a special one in the film, if we actors don't do these kinds of films, the message (about drug menace) will never be out," Kareena said.
"Why doesn't she say there are three heroines in the film? Is there anything less in being a heroine? There are three protagonists in the film and for me, being a hero or a heroine doesn't make any difference," said Shahid Kapoor
"To be able to put a message across and to reach out to a number of people, you have to entertain them. I hope they make this film tax free so that people can watch this for less money because it is telling something that you need to know," said Shahid
"Shahid who doesn't smoke, shot the track with only smoke around. It was a tad bit difficult, but Shahid got into the skin of the character and finished the song without any hitch," the film's director Abhishek Chaubey said

"We are not being preachy and saying that you are wrong if you are a drug addict. In fact, we are empathising with them because it's a battle. Full mention and regard has been given to that," said Alia
Shahid and Kareena have featured together in films like Fida, 36 China Town and Jab We Met. They will soon be seen in Udta Punjab. However, Shahid and Kareena do not feature together in any scene in the film
According to multiple media reports, the Central Board of Film Certification gave a complete no-permit to release Udta Punjab, citing "excessive swearing, abusive language and drug consumption" in its content
