Shaktimaan, India’s most popular superhero to date, is set to make his way to the big screen as part of a movie trilogy from Sony Pictures India. The studio has partnered with Brewing Thoughts as well as the original show’s creator Mukesh Khanna (Bheeshm International), who also portrayed the role of Shaktimaan in the original TV series.

"We are talking to Doordarshan, they are ready to give us a slot. We are talking to satellite channels, there were talks even for a web series. Let's see. I don't know where it will be launched. But I have to bring back Shaktimaan. And I have to be Shaktimaan," said Mr Khanna

"I wanted to show the character's flashback last time, but that would have taken the character of Shaktimaan offscreen for a couple of episodes, which the producers didn't agree to. But this time we are going to do it. We have some kids in mind (for the role), and a solid idea how to go about the show," said Mukesh Khanna

Actor Mukesh Khanna, who is currently seen as Nanu Purushottam Deewan in the TV show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, says daily soaps aren't his cup of tea, and so, this show may turn out to be his first and last.
