The Madras High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking registration of FIR against all those who project women in bad taste in all mediums, including films, in the backdrop of the 'swift' action taken against Tamil actor Simbu over a controversial 'beep song'.

Questioning the swift action by Tamil Nadu police in booking Tamil actor Simbu over a controversial 'beep' song, a petition has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking registration of FIR against all those who project women in bad taste in all mediums, including films.

Simbu has been asked to appear before police for an inquiry regarding a song reportedly rendered by him, which allegedly denigrates women. Cases have been registered against Simbu and Anirudh Ravichander, who have composed the music for the Beep Song. Ravichander denied he composed the tune for the song
