It's time for a thrilling and action-packed weekend with AR Murugadoss' Akira starring Sonakshi Sinha headlining the long list of releases on Friday.
"Akira is releasing on September 2. You are the best action hero and guys I have seen Akira. It's fantastic," said John Abraham
"Sonakshi is a convincing action-hero. She will make you believe in her stunts. It is a completely female driven film," said Anurag Kashyap
"I recently met him and requested that we should do a film together as it has been so long. He has also agreed, if the dates fall in place. I will definitely do a film with him in future," said Murugadoss
"Nobody is allowed to tell you how you are to look. Secondly, youngsters read this stuff. They are at an impressionable age, they are being bombarded - 'you need to look like this.' I am clear I need to project a healthy body. Even if am targeted, I don't allow them to raise a finger, be it my work or personal space," said Sonakshi Sinha
"When she was performing stunts, I asked her to imagine herself as a man, to shrug like a man, to punch like a man, and to stare like a man. The way she transformed into Akira amazed me," said Murugadoss
The chain of celebrity endorsements for Akshay Kumar's Rustom is now continuing with Sonakshi Sinha's Akira, releasing next Friday. No doubt the baton will pass to Sidharth Malhotra's Baar Baar Dekho, releasing the Friday after that. Sidharth's is the second PR message for Akira in as many days
"He has always put his opinion across and I really appreciate him for being an honest man. There are a very few honest people left in politics. I think you should let him be honest," Sonakshi said about her father
"But my mom gets worried so I have to pacify her and calm her down. She understands at the end of the day. But wonders 'why are they writing about my daughter' so she gets a little protective," Sonakshi said
"And in a few days Sonakshi is coming with 'Akira' showing us how kick-a** women of India can really be. So guys don't forget September 2 and one advice -- never underestimate the power of an extremely pissed off woman, especially when she's Akira," Akshay said in the video
"Anurag has been fantastic antagonist to my protagonist. He is very good in the film. It was so nice that he was working as an actor and did not try to be a director in any way. He let A R Murugadoss do his film and he did a fabulous job. I told him he should take up more acting," Sonakshi said.
"Mere liye jisne jo bhi kiya, unhe thank you thank you shukriya," trills Akshay, 48. He continues in this vein, including shout-outs to the upcoming films of some of the actors on the list - Salman's Tubelight, Ranveer Singh's Befikre, Sonakshi Sinha's Akira and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan
