S S Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 goes on floor today. The film's official Twitter handle posted: "After the widespread success of part1, the team is all set to get back to shoot part 2 from today." However, the release date of Baahubali - The Conclusion has been pushed to January 2017 from December 2016
The release of the second part of filmmaker S S Rajamouli's magnum opus, Baahubali - the Conclusion, has been postponed. "The film will now not release in December as planned. It will release in January 2017 instead," reveals a source
"There's a great demand for Baahubali in Europe. There's never been so much demand for an Indian film. Several distributors are literally fighting to buy the film's rights." Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty in lead roles
According to an industry source, Rajamouli is planning a spin-off on Baahubali. Meanwhile, Rajamouli will resume filming Baahubali 2 from mid-November or early December. The film features Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles
"Firstly, it's not easy to make a film on such a grand scale. The bigger challenge nowadays is to take a film to the theatres. In our case, we didn't face any difficulty in releasing, which was only possible because of meticulous planning and team work," he said.
A video, put together by the Hyderabad-based Makuta VFX which were responsible for Baahubali's Hollywood-worthy graphics, details the painstakingly hard work that goes into transforming green and blue screens into CGI the scale of Baahubali, believed to be India's most expensive film
"Yes, there were many hurdles we had to surpass since a project of this scale has not been done often in Indian cinema. The timeline and budget were the main issues. We were way ahead of the originally, allocated budget and time posed a major constraint which led us to divide Baahubali into two parts," said producer Shobu Yaralagadda
Baahubali, believed to be India's most expensive film with a stated budget of Rs 250 crores, is a two-part epic fantasy starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishnan. The first part released across 4,000 screens worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam on July 10 and reportedly collected more than Rs 500 crores in just 24 days
Baahubali has been appreciated by veteran actors including Amitabh Bachchan
This filmmaker made a movie with a budget of more than three million rupees in 1948
At Rs 241 crores, the film's collections at the domestic box office are higher than what SS Rajamouli's Baahubali made in the corresponding period.
Recent feats include coining the new language Kiliki and writing the dialogues for the Tamil version of SS Rajamouli's blockbuster hit, Baahubali
