"Censor board has always been unfair. What's new in that? Ever since it was formed, they have been unfair and there has always been a fight between them and the filmmakers. Their job is to only certify the film and not to censor or ban anything," said Manoj Bajpayee
"I wanted to play something which is light-hearted because I always get intense characters. After a point of time, you really start questioning your versatility. First, the industry typecasts you and the second, you get limited because you don't push yourself to go into spaces which are unfamiliar"
"My role is of a woman who wants to take risk, has a sense of adventure. I used to get offers for serious, tensed, dying or being raped kind of roles. In Nayantara's Necklace, I got to play a light-hearted role which I don't get to explore usually," she said at the release event of the short film in Mumbai
Directed by Jaydeep Sarkar, Nayantara's Necklace is a dramatic thriller which revolves around the friendship of two women. The story is based on a necklace, which is also used as a metaphor for things, which may not seem to be what they actually are, read a statement
"I was very unhappy when I could not find any role for the three extraordinary actresses - Tisca Chopra, Tillotama and Rasika Dugal - who were in Qissa. I even tried to rewrite the script to somehow bring them into the film, but the film was adamant about going its own way. Finally, I gave up," the director told IANS
"I have signed on Anup Singh's next with Irrfan and Gulshan Devaiah. I am very excited about reuniting with the two after Qissa. It is not a period film but is set in modern day India. I am looking forward to it. We begin shooting from December. I am really excited," Tillotama said
