The film, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra, is the latest to have been subjected to a hatchet job by the Censor. In June, the Board ordered 89 cuts to the drug drama Udta Punjab, including a demand to delete all references to the word Punjab. Udta Punjab eventually released with all but once scene intact
"I can put forth my point of view and talk about how censorship is so pointless in the day and age of the internet. I am excited as this is my first time there and I am really looking forward to interacting with the students."
"We have cut all derogatory and offensive words/dialogues and anti-Pakistan content from the film. More than 100 cuts, mutes, beeps have been suggested to the film's distributor. Once he will complete the editing as per the requirement of the board, it will again be presented before it for final approval," Mubashir Hasan, the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) head, told PTI.
"If it gets pushed ahead, so it will be beneficial to us (Housefull 3)," said Akshay asked on being told that Udta Punjabs original release date was June 17 but could get delayed.
Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani has ordered heavy edits for Udta Punjab
