The release of Puli had hit a roadblock after early morning shows and overseas premieres of the film were cancelled due to payment issues. However, the issues are now resolved and the film has released in India and abroad. Hansika Motwani tweeted: "All issues sorted. It's time to Roar. It's time for #Puli. it's #showtime"
Puli's overseas distributor Atmus Entertainment Puli said that the local distributors did not allow overseas release without local clearance. "Money from Telugu distributor pending to close financier." They also said, "Vijay finally was able to come out of home after raid and immediately agreed to pay the pending amount"
Income tax officials on September 30 raided houses of leading southern actor Vijay, whose film Puli is slated to release on October 1. They also raided the houses of the film's producers. "The raids were conducted following reports that some investment made in Puli is unaccounted for"
"He watched the film at NFDC's (National Film Development Corporation) preview theatre. His children and wife loved the film and Vijay hopes that his fans will like it too," a source from the theatre told IANS. Chaitanya Rao, who worked on Shruti Haasan's principal costumes in the films, tells us with a hint of mystery, "The costumes represent the past, present and future. Shruti Haasan also had her say in the preparations, because she had spent a lot of time toning her body and wanted to look sensuous. She was keen that the clothes had to accentuate her body"
Veteran actress Sridevi, who plays an evil queen in upcoming Tamil fantasy drama Puli, took to Twitter on Sunday. She also wrote: "Pull yourself with your kids & friends to the nearest theatre." The movie, whose trailer released on August 20, has also been trending on Sunday with the tag "Puli Most Liked Indian Trailer"

"Chiranjeevi will appear for 15 minutes in the film. I can't divulge much information about his role but I can assure that his fans will love it. We are yet to shoot his portion and we intend to do it soon," the film's director Srinu Vaitla said
