Kamal Haasan Focuses on Nation Building on Birthday

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan celebrated his 60th birthday on November 7 by joining PM Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign. The actor, joined by volunteers from his fan club, cleaned up Madhambakkam lake in Chennai. The actor said he is open to anything for nation building and feels honoured to be a part of PM Modi's cleanliness drive.

She nominated fellow tennis star Somdev Devvarman, squash player Dipika Pallikal, teen badminton sensation P V Sindhu, 2008 Olympic gold medalist shooter Abhinav Bindra, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, actor Ritiesh Deshmukh, director Sajid Khan, Telugu movie star Ramcharan and Telangana politician K T Rama Rao.

    London Olympic boxing bronze medallist MC Mary Kom joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), sweeping and cleaning the streets of Imphal. Mary Kom, who won a gold medal in the recently-held Incheon Asian Games, was accompanied by Manipur Rifles personnel, members of her boxing academy and hostellers of the Manipur Baptist Convention Centre.

Salman also took the chain forward by nominating his Facebook and Twitter followers along with nine other prominent personalities, including actors Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
