Film critic Anupama Chopra says that director Shaad Ali's recent film Kill Dil, which features Ranveer Singh, Govinda, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra, is a cliched story told with "freshness and vigour". Giving the film three stars she said, "Kill Dil is much more than just another wannabe homage to the master. The film doesn't have weight or any enduring value, but while it lasts Shaad makes sure you are having a good time."
Actor Ranveer Singh, who shares screen space with actor Govinda in Kill Dil, says his presence is matchless in the movie. Govinda is making a comeback of sorts with Kill Dil after a gap of four years. He will be seen in a negative role.
The trailer is replete with action and humour. Veteran actor Govinda trains Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar to become contract-shooters. Lead actress Parineeti Chopra adds to the glamour quotient.
Actor Ali Zafar, who co-stars with actress Parineeti Chopra in Kill Dil, says she is sensous, hot and sizzling in the movie. Parineeti says she is self-confident.
Actor Ranveer Singh said he was filmy since childhood and loved watching Govinda's films, who is his inspiration to become an actor in Bollywood.
Watch Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra's sizzling chemistry in the song Sajde sung by Arijit Singh and Nihira Joshi. The melodious Punjabi track presents the lead actors at their romantic best.
This song showcases the dancing skills of both Govinda and Parineeti Chopra. The actors are seen dancing to the same song in two different scenarios as Ali Zafar and Ranveer Singh are reduced to just individual spectators.
The makers of Kill Dil released the second song from the film titled Happy Budday. Actor Ranveer Singh tries his best to impress the film's leading lady Parineeti Chopra on her birthday in the song. The song, sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Shankar Mahadevan, failed to make an impression. The music, given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, is mundane and the lyrics of the song, penned by Gulzar, is insipid.
Some things never change, for example actor Ranveer Singh's signature street Romeo style and histrionics, movie or character notwithstanding. In the song called Sweeta, Ranveer Singh plays not just a lovesick romantic chasing or getting chased (and kissed) by his lady love, actor Parineeti Chopra, but an RJ like character who introduces the song as the next best thing to have happened to mankind given that it is sung by Adnan Sami, penned by Gulzar and composed by Shanker Ehsaan Loy. The film also stars actors Ali Zafar and Govinda in significant roles.
